Rivero discharged from hospital Canarian president Paulino Rivero has been discharged from hospital after a 12-day stay which forced him to cancel all his engagements.

Doctors say a burst artery, probably due to stress, was the cause and have advised him to scale down his activities until his blood pressure stabilises. The hospitalisation in Las Palmas prevented Rivero from attending last week's World Travel Market in London.
