World Diabetes Day marked in the Canaries The Canarian authorities have organised a series of events to mark today's World Diabetes Day in the islands. Regional health minister Mercedes Roldós urged the public to take a greater interest in the disease, which affects 190,000 people here (twice the national rate) and accounts for a large portion of of the health budget.
